✍️ How It Started

From a Conversation
Under a Mango Tree

In 2021, our co-founders — a food systems specialist, a Python engineer, a nutritionist, a logistics expert, and a finance leader — sat together in a small village in Luwero District, Uganda.

They watched a farmer discard a full sack of tomatoes because he had no buyer, no transport, and no way to reach households just 20 kilometres away who desperately needed food.

That moment crystallised everything. The problem wasn't a shortage of food. It was a broken connection between those who grow and those who eat.

Farm 2 Plate Connect was built to be that bridge — using SMS technology, AI, and mobile money to create a system that works for every Ugandan, even those without smartphones or internet access.
